If you are looking for support following rape, sexual abuse or sexual assault it may be important to you that you receive a service that recognises your chosen gender identity and accepts you as who you are.
The impact of rape or sexual assault on somebody who is transgender has another painful level as the experience may involve an exposure of your body in a way you would not choose to reveal to others. When you were attacked you may suspect you were targeted because of your transgender identity. You may feel the attack has shaken you to the core of who you are.
If you were sexually abused as a child you may need help to cope with the impact, to improve your sense of self worth, to feel in control of what you want in your life and to define how you want your life to be.
At Survive we will listen to your experience and help you work out what you need. If you have a preference for the gender of the person you might feel most comfortable talking with please let us know and we will do our best to arrange the support you request.
We are currently in the process of seeking funding for the coming year so we can maintain all our services & hopefully develop new services including counselling, as things look at the moment we aren’t sure whether we will be able to maintain all the services we currently do offer, so if you are able & would like to make a donation to help us to keep up and running that would be very much appreciated. Donations can be made by calling the office. Every Penny really does count. Thank you!!
